WHAT IS BOTOX/NUCEIVA/XEOMIN?

WHAT areas can botox/nuceiva/XEOMIN TREAT?

Cosmetically, BOTOX/Nuceiva//Xeomin can freshen your look by softening fine lines on the face, such as frown lines, forehead lines, and crows feet around the eyes. It can also be used to lift eyebrows, treat the “gummy smile”, soften prominent jaw muscles for facial slimming, and much more. Medically, it can be used to treat excessive sweating and it can also help with tension headaches

how does it work?

BOTOX/Nuceiva/Xeomin are neuromodulators (a form of botulinum toxin type A) that is injected into specific treatment areas, working by blocking the nerve signals needed for facial muscles to contract. It is administered through an ultra-fine needle of purified protein into the specific muscles that create wrinkles, therefore dramatically reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. It prevents the muscle from contracting, so the fine lines and wrinkles will gradually decrease in depth and severity.

When will i see results? how long do the affects of a treatment last?

The results of BOTOX/Nuceiva/Xeomin treatment and can last between 3-4 months from the date of treatment. Over time the body metabolizes the product, which will slowly return muscle movement in the treatment area. Individuals can choose to maintain their Botox/Nuceiva results for longer periods by being consistent and maintaining treatments as per your nurse injector’s recommended treatment schedule.

at what age should i start getting treatment?

There is no definite or wrong age to start getting BOTOX/Nuceiva/Xeomin treatments. Most typically start getting treatment between their mid 20’s to early 30’s. As a general suggestion, the best time to begin considering treatment is when you notice that wrinkles begin to stick around/linger after making an expression, but they do not stick around for good/when your face or that particular muscle is static. Each individual is different and should receive a consultation by a medical professional prior to their treatment.

IS BOTOX/NUCIEVA SAFE? WHAT ARE THE SIDE EFFECTS?

Yes, Botox and Nuceiva are both FDA and Health Canada approved.

Side effects from a BOTOX/Nuceiva/Xeomin treatment may include bruising, swelling, redness, or tenderness around the injection site, all of which will resolve without intervention after a few days to a week.

As long as the pre and post care instructions are followed by the client and the treatment is properly administered by the injector, the likelihood of adverse effects are minimized.

HOW MANY UNITS OF BOTOX/NUCEIVA DO I NEED?

The amount of BOTOX/Nuceiva/Xeomin and therefore the cost, needed will depend on each individual. Some contributing factors may include the area being treated, the strength of the individual’s muscle(s), the desired result, and how many treatments have been received previously.

pre-care instructions:

Avoid alcohol consumption for at least 48 hours prior to your appointment to reduce the chances of increased bleeding, swelling, and/or bruising
Avoid anti-inflammatory/blood thinning products, if possible, for at least 48 hours prior to your appointment to reduce the chances of increased bleeding, swelling and/or bruising
Medications and supplements may include: Advil, Tylenol, Midol, anti-inflammatory medications, Coumadin, Warfarin, Xarelto, Pradaxa, fish oil, flax seed, garlic, gingko biloba, green tea, multi-vitamin, vitamin E, omega 3’s

Please arrive to your appointment with a clean face (e.g. no makeup, no sunscreen, no moisturizer)

Inform your nurse injector about any medications or supplements you are currently taking as well as important medical history information
Ensure you are not currently pregnant or breastfeeding
Ensure you have not received any invasive surgeries 6 weeks prior

post-care instructions:

Do not lay down or bend down for 4 hours after treatment. Ensure that you are sitting in an upright position during this time frame

Do not touch, itch or rub the areas that have been injected for the next 4 hours after treatment
Do not massage or apply pressure on the areas that have been injected for 4 hours after treatment

Avoid strenuous/physical exercise for 24 hours after your treatment.
- Light physical exercise can be performed after 4 hours but it is recommended to wait the full 24 hours after treatment

It is recommended to avoid wearing makeup for the rest of the day after treatment
It is recommended to avoid getting any facial treatments for 2 weeks after treatment

Appointment policies

If a client arrives 10-15 minutes later than their appointment time, we cannot guarantee treatment. If a client arrives 15+ minutes later than their appointment time, we cannot perform treatment and this will be considered a “no-show”.

Please try to give us 48 hours notice if you need to cancel. Appointments cancelled or rescheduled within 24 hours will be considered a “last minute cancellation”.

If a client has 2 or more “no shows” and/or “last minute cancellations”, we will require a $50 deposit per service before booking any future appointments. The deposit will be applied to treatment total. If a client cancels within 24 hours or does not show up to their appointment, their deposit will be forfeited. If the client is booking a pre-purchased service and shows up to their appointment, their deposit will be refunded back after the appointment is completed.
