FAQS on Lip Injections

1. What filler is used for lip injections?

One of the most popular temporary fillers is hyaluronic acid (HA) such as Juvederm Volbella which lifts the lips with a natural look. It fills out the fine lines around the area and plumps up lips leaving a natural sheen.

2. Is the treatment reversible?

The reason why the temporary HA is so popular is because it is not permanent. If you are dissatisfied with the results, we can inject an eraser enzyme called hyaluronidase to dissolve the filler in a few minutes. However, the permanent and semi-permanent fillers are irreversible. Once it’s done, there’s no going back.

3. How long does the temporary HA filler last?

It really depends on your fitness level. The results are visible instantly. Initially, your lips may be swollen or bruised a bit, but it reduces after a day or so. Once the swelling ceases, you will see your fuller lips. If you have a high metabolism, the formula will be metabolized faster and the effects wear off faster too. Normally, the effects last from four to six months.

4. Will your lips feel different?

If they are done properly under certified supervision with an experienced hand, your lips won’t feel much different than your real lips. During the procedure, you may feel a sting or pinch when the filler is being injected. Once done, our experts will take care to soothe them with ice. That’s it! You’re done! If you like, you have the option of numbing the area around your lips with an injection or cream, like a dentist does to your gums, so you don’t feel the sting during the procedure.

5. How long does the procedure take?

The procedure does not take more than 20 minutes normally. The numbing effect should wear off soon after and you are free to go home. Just take care to heal completely before you make your party plans. That might take from three to seven days. Avoid activities like facials or massages for a few days. You can choose which area you need to work on: just the top lip, the lower lip or both lips. Our experts will help you decide what’s best for your facial features and how to go about it.
